I love grouping of images. A photograph is worth a thousand words, but a collection of images is a constant conversation. New insights. A relationship you didn't see before. The possibilities are endless.
I love returning to the memories of my travels. Time is an interesting ally. When I took this image in 2008, I knew there was something about it; but, then again, I did come home with over a thousand snaps. As I began editing a few months later, I disregarded this one as pedestrian and I just didn't *feel* it. Now, in 2014, 6 years later almost to the day (6 years? Has it really been that long?), something about this image just spoke to me.
"Let's turn me into something great ...."
And I did.
Like clockwork, every afternoon it rained. Sometimes for 15 minutes, sometimes for 3 hours. But it rained every afternoon. It was a welcome relief from the heat of the day and the giant fat drops were just ... fun. Eighty boys running around in the rain - getting soaked in the only clothes they brought - and having the time of their lives. How is that not fun?!? Just before it rained, I snapped this image. Just before my field of vision was blurred by big fat warm drops of rain, just before everything looked like it was melting - the days dust being washed away - this is what I saw.
I love Ethiopia - the warmest people I have ever met. They have very very little - meager doesn't even cover it. This does not stop them from sharing every last blessing they have been given - even with a total stranger. And they are so happy - great big bright white smiles - from ear to ear. it made me feel both welcome and selfish. I had brought with me more stuff than I would ever wear and they had the clothes on their backs. It was a humbling experience.
Lake Langano is fairly shallow for such a large body of water- I'm not sure if that is better or worse for fishing. I mean, look, one guy is standing! But these men were determined to bring home a catch. I wished I could have stayed to see with mighty haul.

I am thrilled to work with clients on creating custom orders from my images. Typically, due to the time and effort that custom work requires, I will discuss with each client on a project-by-project basis. All custom orders are guaranteed 3 revisions (usually more when they are just minor changes) for the agreed amount, which is calculated as a percentage of the regular listing price. (i.e. an 11x14 print $50.00 + 30% custom fee $15.00 = $65.00 plus shipping) Revisions above and beyond the initial 3 are charged at my hourly rate of $85.00/ hour and must be paid in full before final artwork will be shipped. I certainly want my clients to be happy with the final product, but I also need my time and effort and work valued. I am sure you understand.
All items shipped within the United States will be sent USPS Priority Mail. Domestic packages always have tracking included. Additional insurance may be added on at cost.
International items will be sent by USPS unless you have a different method you would prefer. All international orders have a customs number; You may have tracking added at cost - just let me know if you would like me to find out the price to your country. Anything can be worked out ~ I am more than happy to ship anywhere!
Due to previous abuses, my policies for returns, refunds, and cancellations are as follows:
In the event of damage or postal service error, I am more than happy to work with you on a transaction by transaction basis. Items will only be sent to verified addresses.
LOST/ LATE/ CUSTOMS DELAYS:
Once you item leaves my hands I have no control over shipping. I always use the most reliable and cost effect means of shipping my packages. I have no control over delays in customs, labor strikes, acts of God, acts of terrorism, thief, and any other delay that might befall the post. I always try to use tracking unless it is so cost prohibitive that both the client and myself cannot reconcile the funds. FOR INTERNATIONAL ORDERS - CUSTOM DELAYED PACKAGES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED LOST AND ELIGIBLE FOR A POTENTIAL REPRINT UNTIL 8 WEEKS AFTER THE SHIPPING DATE. I am not negotiable on this point due to previous client abuses.
DAMAGED PACKAGES/ MERCHANDISE:
If your package arrives to you in less than perfect condition and the contents have been damaged, PLEASE SNAP A PIC and MESSAGE ME IMMEDIATELY. If the shipping company (UPSP, UPS, FedEx) is responsible, I need to contact them as soon as possible and get you a replacement post haste. If the neighbors dog (or similar situation) is the culprit, that is not the responsibility of this shop to replace the items.

Once items have been ordered, we can sort something out of you are really unhappy ~ I'm a reasonable person. Each order is handled on a case by case basis - most of my images and products are not kept in stock nor are they on hand as there are too many images in too many different sizes and products.
